Milfoil is a weed that is not native to the United States
and when it first struck our lakes in 1996
it soon became apparent that the weed was a
serious threat.
A professional lake management
program was required.
A long term plan was needed to fund
this program and a weed district was
necessary.
The weed district along with the
special assessment funding was voted on by
property owners and was established in 2005.
Each year Professional
Lake Management inspects, evaluates, tests
and recommends the level of treatment for
each individual lake. They established
the wetlands, obtain the permits and treat
the lakes. After treatment they
continued to maintain results and adjust
treatment levels based on their analysis.
This constant monitoring ensures the lakes
receive minimal treatments that will allow
the natural functions of the lakes to be
uninterrupted.
