A group of dedicated property owners working with township and county officials in 1992 &1993 created the Tri- County Drain Commission.  This system allows, Little Crooked to drain through the “tunnel” into Big Crooked then drains via a tube under  Sister Lakes Road into Round Lake.

On the west side of Round Lake the water drains through a wetland over a concrete and metal weir, then entering a another tube that is beneath County Line Road.  From there the water flows into Pipestone Lake, then finding it’s way to Pipestone Creek.  Then it journey’s into the St. Joseph River all the way into Lake Michigan. The drain was completed in 1997.The first use of the drain system was implemented in 2009.  This allowed property owners to protect and use their lake front property to the maximum.
